Amyloid PET Scan
Amyloid PET scans play a crucial role in diagnosing Alzheimer’s disease by visualizing amyloid plaques, one of the key Hallmarks of the disease. These plaques are abnormal clusters of protein that can disrupt communication between nerve cells and are commonly found in the brains of those with Alzheimer’s. The scans can help in early-stage detection, potentially before significant cognitive decline, allowing for timely intervention and management of the disease.
